I want to present you an excellent article by Chris Barton, photographer and owner of Photographer's Direct photo agency.

One of the best articles about how microstock can lower the reputation of a company. What he shows is an example, but there are thousands and thousands of others around the web, newspapers, magazines, etc...

So, here it is the article, I hope it raises the consciousness of buyers and companies' owners.

Old Seafood Farm

Where once there was a natural seafood farm, nowadays there is only a pile of rocks destroyed by the sea. Shot in Porto de Barcas, Lourinhã, Portugal at almost 0ºC, so that I barely could feel my hands.

I was driving around Sintra on the last day of 2009 when I found a small place to park my car. To my enjoyment I heard a waterfall near by. It was close to darkness and I couldn't see much when I took this shot, but I guess it was worth it.

Azenhas do Mar

Azenhas do Mar is a fantastic looking village located in Sintra, Portugal. This day was troublesome as often it rained like there would be no tomorrow. The wind was also extremely strong. I could feel the water spray from up there. Unfortunately, even using my strudy tripod, I wasn't allowed to use slow shutter speeds. After some dozen shots, running in and out of the car, cause of the rain, I got a few with blue sky and sunshine on the village. So here it is my favorite shot from those series.

I decided to start sharing some technical information about my photos, although all exifs are intact.

One of Lisbon's landmarks, the Aqueduto das Águas Livres, built in 1748, was used to transport around 1300 m³ of fresh water each day. It has a total length of 14.174 m .

Another Gull, I've been learning a lot about Gull's behaviour since I started shooting them, altough a bit more about the Larus Michaellis. I'll post some shots later on.

For this one I used the Canon 5D2 + Canon 180 macro. Yep, the AF works very well!

Help saving the Mountain Gorilla

This year, 2009, is the Year of the Gorilla. The Mountain Gorilla living in the Virunga Mountains of Rwanda is one of the most threatened species of our times.

No one wants this wonderful ape to disappear from our planet, and the good news is that we all can help to save this primate.

Andy Rouse, one of the top world wildlife photographers has a limited edition print of a family of Mountain Gorillas. The profits from the sale will be 100% donated directly to gorilla conservation projects.

I'm sorry for taking so long to upload new images, but I had around 1000 images to process from the F1 tests, and I've been having also lots of work.

These were shot during the F1 pre-season testing at Circuit de Catalunya, using the Canon 5DII and the Canon 300 f4 IS with and without the 1.4x teleconverter.
